Democratic Republic of the Congo

Tetra Tech helped improve access to justice and the overall management and effectiveness of judicial institutions and courts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The project worked directly with judicial institutions and civil society in the country to establish new judicial procedures, including an independent High Judicial Council, and improve the management, efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of the system. A particular focus of the project was instituting merit-based judicial selection and strengthening judicial disciplinary systems and anti-corruption. The project also issued grants to local organizations to increase access to justice for vulnerable populations through legal assistance and support to victims.
