Myanmar October 2013 – September 2018

A 5-year, $$15,957,811 program, the Promoting the Rule of Law Project supports the US Government’s strategic foreign assistance priority of “a prosperous, democratic, and stable Myanmar that reflects the diversity and aspirations of its people.” The project specifically supports the goal of “transparent, accountable, responsive, and participatory processes and institutions.” Tetra Tech is working closely with USAID to develop strategic relationships with and between key actors in civil society and the justice sector, improve understanding and adoption of best practices in rule of law development, provide critical rule-of-law assistance to government and civil society entities, and develop government-civil society partnerships to improve access to justice.

Tetra Tech is supporting key counterparts such as the Union Attorney General’s Office, the Office of the Supreme Court of the Union, the Parliament, and civil society organizations to achieve the following objectives:

  • Promote accountable and accessible justice sector institutions
  • Improve and increase access to justice, legal literacy, and participation of marginalized populations.
