Tetra Tech was contracted by USAID to provide assistance to non-governmental and public institutions reforming Argentina's judicial system. Tetra Tech team members provided technical assistance and training in court administration, establishment of judicial training centers, alternative dispute resolution, and public education. A result of the project effort was the passage of a law which requires all civil disputes to pass throughout a mandatory mediation process prior to entering the formal system. The team also worked to develop the first association of judges, which facilitated exchange of ideas on such critical issues as delay reduction and improving judicial performance.

Tetra Tech organized a seminar for judicial staff of Argentine courts, with study visits to Kentucky, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Visitors discussed court administration, governance, and automation and developed action plans for how they would implement the lessons learned from the study tour back home.
